To take the three courses call Rick Gould at (800) 582-7979. The cost for the classes is $294. The course books will be sent to you. Each course will have one exam that can be taken online.
- After the three courses are completed, visit http://www.dre.ca.gov and print out required forms:
- RE 435 – Salesperson Exam/License Application
- RE 205 – State Public Benefits Statement
- RE 237 – Live Scan Service Request
- RE 435 is the salesperson application. Work with Rapisarda Realty in completing this form.
- RE 205 is confirming that you are an American citizen.

- Items to mail to the DRE: A check made out to the “Department of Real Estate” in the amount of $305, the three Real Estate course certificates (Principles, Practice, and elective class), the three Real Estate Forms (RE 435, RE 205, and RE 237), and a copy of your passport or birth certificate.

- While waiting for the Department of Real Estate (DRE) to send you your test date, begin studying for the Real Estate Exam.
- To increase the odds of passing the real estate exam on the first try, sign up for EZPrep at (www.ezprep.com) or call 1-866-773-7968. EZPrep offers a CD-ROM with 16 hours of test preparation and website access for 45 days. The website contains test questions & a real estate glossary. The cost for EZPrep is $70.41 with shipping and handling.
- Take the test. You will need a minimum of 70% to pass the exam.
